About
Mars Organic is the independent home for my writing about music, taste, curation, generations, technology, institutions, and the occasional difficulty of knowing when something is over.
I’m Mike Tierney. I’ve spent my career recognizing what will connect with listeners before industry consensus forms, then turning that judgment into action: building audiences, helping artists grow fanbases, turning ideas into products and programming, and designing systems that allow human judgment and creativity to scale.
That career has taken me through radio and television, major and independent record labels, artist management, Apple Music, and Amazon, where I most recently led global music programming.
Mars Organic is where I’m figuring out what comes next. Some of that will be about music. Some will be about culture, technology, generations, work, institutions, endings, and whatever connects those things when I’m not looking.
